b. Kasseem Dean, the Bronx, New York City, New York, USA. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Dean aka Swizz Beatz emerged in the early twenty-first century as one of urban music's most distinctive producers. He was raised in the Bronx but relocated to Atlanta as a teenager, which was where he first became involved in DJing and production work. He was introduced to the Ruff Ryders label by family members and began working for the company at the age of 16. During the late 90s Dean emerged as one of the unsung heroes of rap and R&B, working with many leading artists ranging from Cam'ron, Ludacris, Jay-Z and Limp Bizkit, to Eve, Foxy Brown and Mary J. Blige, and was the mastermind behind one of the biggest rap singles of 1998, DMX's "Ruff Ryders Anthem".
